Tetley Tea Human Rights

Tetley,which is Britains largest and best selling tea making company,has been accused of having links to 'human rights violations' after the death of three extremely low paid  workers in India.
Its parent company,Tata is being called upon to apologise after a crop sprayng company paid as little as 8 pence per hour to its workers 1 of whom died of suspected poisoning at a plantation in India.
Campaigners have blamed 25-year-old Gopal Tanti’s sudden death in May on pesticides he was employed to spray on crops at the site.
Almost 2,000 workers work there, with many said to receive 93p for working days of between eight and 12 hours, according to the IUF, which represents 2.8million workers in 124 countries. Two other workers were shot dead by riot police and another fifteen injured ,according to a report by the International Union of Foodworkers.
Action is now being demanded by charities and trade unions worldwide.
Tetly have fiercely defended that this is is anyway connected to them and does not employ any staff on the Assam plantation.

Charity War on Want say that the deaths put to shame Tetley's claims to be an ethical producer of tea.
 Tetley claim:
The Tetley everyday tea is famous for its taste and unique blend, and is therefore the nations favorite tea! In fact, over 8 million households in the UK drink Tetley's main brand!
Maybe this will now change.
